SeedProd Landing Pages

To create a landing page, go to Landing Pages under the SeedProd menu in your WordPress sidebar. You can also create your first landing page directly from the SeedProd dashboard.

Choose a Page Type

Next, choose which type of page you would like to create.

SeedProd comes with four special landing pages and modes and for you to use.

  1. Coming Soon Page: Select this option if your website has not yet launched. A coming soon page will be shown to visitors while logged in visitors see the regular website.
  2. Maintenance Page: Select this option if your website is being updated or needs to be hidden for a time period. A maintenance page will be shown to visitors while logged in visitors see the regular website.
  3. Login Page: Select this option if you would like to create a completely customized login page to replace the default WordPress login page.
  4. Custom 404 Page: Select this option to create custom 404 pages when a visitor accidentally comes across a missing page on your website. This allows you to add additional functionality such as creating a magnet lead to collect emails.

Alternatively, you have the choice of building a landing page from scratch or with our pre-made templates. Landing Pages can be Opt-in, Sales, Webinar, Lead, Thank you, Squeeze Page, or any type of page the has a specific goal or purpose.

Landing pages have their own URL like: http://example.com/my-landing-page/

To create a new landing page, simply click on the button “Add New Landing Page“.

After selecting a template, you’ll be prompted to enter a Page Name. SeedProd will automatically generate a page URL preview based on the name you enter.
If you’d like to change the URL later, you can do so at any time from the page settings.

Once you’ve entered your page name, click Next: Choose Template to continue to the next step.

On the Template Selection page, you can pick from the available pre-designed templates or choose the Blank Template option to start from scratch and design your page entirely on your own.

Edit Your Page

After importing your template, you will be presented with the SeedProd page builder. On the left you will see our blocks that you can drag and drop into the page on the right side.

If you would like to learn more about how to use the SeedProd page builder, please read more SeedProd documentation or watch the video below.

How Does Bypass URL Work

The Bypass URL feature allows you to create a custom URL you can share with others to bypass your active Coming Soon or Maintenance Mode pages. This option can be found in the Page Settings > Access Controls panel while editing the Coming Soon and Maintenance pages only.

By default, this uses a generic user with no privileges to access the site. This method is used because heavily cached hosts or caching plugins do not cache content for logged in users. In other words, when someone uses the bypass URL, they are logged in as that generic user.

Note: This may not work in some use cases. However, you may try turning on the Bypass Cookie option to use a cookie-based bypass instead on sites that aren’t cached.

Setting Up Your Bypass URL

Follow these steps to use the Access Control features and configure a Bypass URL:

  1. While editing your coming soon or maintenance page, go to the Page Settings > Access Control panel
  2. In the Bypass URL box, enter a secret phrase that will be added to your website URL
  3. You will then see a bypass URL below, which you can then give to anyone to bypass the coming soon page.

Password Protection

You may also add a password form using the [seed_bypass_form] shortcode on your coming soon or maintenance page. The phrase used in the Bypass URL section is also the bypass password in this form.

You may also edit the password form’s placeholder message (using the msg shortcode attribute), edit the button text (using the button-txt attribute), and add a return/redirect URL (using the return attribute) if needed. Here’s a sample shortcode below with all attributes and a screenshot of this password protection form.

[seed_bypass_form msg="Enter passcode" button-txt="Login" return="https://yourwebsite.com/welcome"]

That’s it! Make sure to always save your work.

Domain Mapping allows you to have multiple microsites on a single instance of WordPress. For example, you can have your main site on domain-A.com, but with domain mapping, you can also create a SeedProd landing page (or pages) that another domain domain-B.com points to.

Note: Domain Mapping is only available on the Elite subscription. For more information, check out our Pricing page.

Note: This feature is not supported on WordPress Multisite installations.

Important: To set up domain mapping your web hosting provider MUST support adding multiple domains to your single WordPress site in your web hosting panel. You can check with your hosting provider to confirm and add this additional domain.

Follow these steps to map your domain to a SeedProd landing page:

  1. In your domain registrar’s management panel (used to buy the domain), add an “A” type DNS record pointing to the IP web server hosting your website. You may ask for help from your domain registrar’s support team on adding this record. To find your web server’s IP address, you can also reach out to your web hosting provider’s team to provide this.
  2. In your web hosting panel, add this domain as an additional domain for your website. You may ask your hosting provider to help add this domain and confirm it is pointing to your web server.
  3. Create or open a landing page in the SeedProd builder
  4. Go to Page Settings > Domain Mapping panel
  5. In the Domain Name box, enter the domain (“mydomain.com”) and the optional path (“mydomain.com/thank-you”)
  6. If you want to force HTTPS on this page, turn on the Force HTTP toggle option. Please note that this only works if you already have a security certificate installed for this domain.
  7. Turn on the Custom Domain toggle option
  8. That’s it! You can now go to the domain to see this landing page.
